Lizzy Renihan’s teaching biography

Lizzy Rennihan

Lizzy Rennihan

I have been a teaching for ten years now. At first it was a job between theatre work but it quickly became something that I found just as creatively fulfilling.

I have taught pupils aged 4-16  in numerous stage schools including Stagecoaches all over London (where several of my plays have been performed), many Perform schools and workshops and The Kaboodle Company.

I currently teach singing classes and musical theatre classes at the Carmel Thomas School of Dance, Music and Drama.

This school is for promising children from 3-16 years of age, most of which are working in West End productions, TV and film. Last year I prepeared my pupils for a show at Her Majesty’s Theatre.

I have also helped to cast children for the recent West End production of Joseph.

I tutor pupils auditioning for music and drama schools and run private vocal sessions for professionals who have auditions in musical theatre.

I am the Musical Theatre teacher at Redbridge Drama Centre, running courses for children aged between 7 and 12 years.

I also do workshops in the holidays at Redbridge, putting on children’s productions of  Shrek, Wicked, the Christmas Panto of Snow White And The Eight Dwarves and Oliver.

I have taught for Freshwater Theatre Company for the last 5 years, devising and facilitating music and drama workshops. A clip of my classes can be viewed on their website.

I now have two young children and have put my theatre career on hold to devote my time to my children and my pupils.

I am very excited about this new chapter of my life.
